The Solace “Grow Your Own Private Practice” Practicum and Internship Program
(please note: our next practicum/internship opening is Spring 2027)
Are you a graduate student in a mental health counseling program looking to start your own practice? While school provides a strong foundation, it often overlooks the nuances of private practice. At Solace Counseling and Coaching, we recognize the challenges you face as you enter the counseling profession, and we’re committed to giving back to our community by helping new counselors start their career with all the tools they need for success.
As of 2022, LPC-Associates in Texas are able to own and operate a private practice. Our internship program is designed to help future counselors build confidence not only as clinicians, but also as professionals preparing for long-term success in private practice after graduation.

*practicum and internship opportunities available in-person only. We are located approximately 20 minutes SW of downtown Houston. Our program requires that students complete their practicum, internship I and II at our site in order. We do not accept ‘partial’ placements or placements for only one or two semesters.
*We do not accept practicum/internship applicants who do not plan to launch their own private practice upon graduation
