Meet Jared

Jared Trost is a graduate student at Lamar University and is supervised by Mark Cagle, LPC-Supervisor. In 2022, after a successful career in oil and gas finance, he helped open Solace Counseling and Coaching and we are excited to now have him on board as a therapist as well. Jared brings a unique perspective and skills to this practice, and is looking forward to helping clients navigate the challenges of modern life.

In his previous role, Jared experienced firsthand the high-stakes and demanding nature of the corporate world, witnessing the toll stress can take on our mental and physical health. His corporate experience illuminated the negative impact of internal politics and the fissures created in our personal relationships following 2020. This experience inspired him to pursue a career in counseling to help others manage stress and navigate the challenges many of us now face. Jared has a particular interest in helping people manage family estrangements, difficult family dynamics, generational and childhood trauma, and social anxiety.

IJared works to create a safe and supportive space where clients can feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. He believes that everyone has the potential to heal and grow, and is committed to helping his clients achieve their goals.
