Meet David

David Procter is a graduate intern with the University of Houston and is supervised by Mark Cagle, LPC-S. He works with adolescents and adults and is prepared to help clients navigate a diverse range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, stress, communication breakdowns in relationships, challenging workplace dynamics, and recovery from and integration of life-changing events.

David has a special interest in helping clients heal from toxic family systems and excels at helping individuals discover appropriate boundaries with their families. David is committed to providing a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their identities and heal from trauma. He is a good fit for a client seeking support with the challenges of family estrangements and conflict, difficult relationships with families of origin, and is comfortable working with individuals to improve communication and satisfaction in their relationships. David is committed to providing a safe and supportive space for clients who identify as LGBTQ+ and affirms their identity and experiences. David understands the unique challenges and needs of the LGBTQ+ community. He actively works to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all clients, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

David uses a variety of evidence-based approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and person-centered therapy. He believes that therapy works best when you feel heard and seen. He can tailor his approach to meet the individual needs of each client. His therapeutic style is collaborative, strengths-based and prioritizes building a strong therapeutic relationship with his clients.

Appointments are available for both in-person and online therapy. David offers sessions at a reduced rate, so that therapy is more accessible. Whether you’re dealing with a specific issue or simply want to explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe, non-judgmental space, David is here to support you.
