Meet Courtney, LPC Associate
Supervised by Lacie Hamilton

Now scheduling clients for in person and virtual appointments. Courtney has been trained in EMDR and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, is an LGBTQ+ affirming counselor, and has experience working with teen clients through her counseling work at Children’s Home Society of FL and experience working with adult clients through her work as a counselor at Motivations Counseling in Sugar Land, TX and internship at Solace Counseling and Coaching.

Courtney believes all clients are the experts on their own life. She utilizes Person Centered therapy to allow clients to lead their sessions while she is their guide on their mental health journey. Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy helps clients focus on the present, their internalized thoughts, and how to make those thoughts work best for their life. Courtney utilizes mindfulness and cognitive therapy to help clients learn to respond rather than to just react. EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) is a technique that can help enable people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that may have resulted from disturbing experiences. Courtney can integrate EMDR as a brief focused treatment as part of a client’s therapy or it may be used as the focus for a client’s therapy. Courtney is also a certified trauma-informed yoga instructor and may incorporate some calming techniques and/or somatic movements to allow the body to release stuck emotions.
